Speech by Senator Bob Huff, honorary chairman of the China-US Business Summit Organizing Committee at the press conference
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen,
This is my 11th visit to China. Every time when I come to China, I witness the vibrant economic growth in China. Amidst the global financial crisis that started last year, China’s economy, nevertheless, remains strong, and China has emerged as the pacesetter in the development of the world economy. The 2010 China-US Business Summit aims at building a platform for fostering communications between Chinese and American entrepreneurs and integrating international resources. The timing of the summit and the choice of the meeting venue are perfect.
Los Angeles is America’s gateway to Asia Pacific region as well as the largest port for China-US trade. Most of the Made in China products that American people use in our daily life are first landed here before being transported to other parts of the U.S.
I firmly believe that the 2010 China-US Business Summit will serve as a platform for enhancing the understanding between Chinese and US entrepreneurs and promoting business opportunities.
As the honorary chairman of the summit, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all of the organizations and news media agencies for your support of the summit.
Next spring,we will warmly welcome in Los Angeles all of the Chinese entrepreneurs who are willing to invest in the US.
Thank you!
